Did Santa remember your big clients? The holiday season is a great
time to offer some of your past clients a discount, or even a free
gift as a sign of your appreciation. Now would be a good time for
you to compile your list of clients, the clients who have bought a
product or service from you over the past six months to a year and
just drop them a friendly holiday greeting. The people who bought
from you a while back may still be willing to spend more with you
again, but they might never get that chance if you don't let them
know that you're out there. I'm sure that during the time you are
compiling your list you'll notice a few clients that simply fell
off the map. Why did they stop buying from you? Were they unhappy
with your service, or did your brand simply slip their mind? The
holiday season isn't typically a great time of year for most web
based businesses that aren't selling gifts, but that shouldn't be
a reason to stop planning for the future. Once the new year rolls
around a lot of business owners get into full swing and are ready
to make a big sales push to pay off those holiday bills. If you're
willing to wish some of these people happy holidays you might see
some of the come back when they're getting back into action. When
you let clients know that you appreciate their business, you are
going to stand out from all the other businesses that didn't take
the time to say thanks. When it comes time for these very business
owners to open their wallets, don't you think it will help that
you are going to be a name that is both friendly and familiar?
So, set up a virtual card of some kind, or pick up some nice but
inexpensive cards at your local Hallmark and send a warm holiday
greeting. For the price of an envelope, card, and a stamp you're
virtually assuring that you'll be on the top of your clients good
list when spending season comes around.

DO YOU MAKE THESE MENTAL ERRORS?
Have you ever spent time talking with someone who is real
successful in their business, or in their marriage or in any
other area of life, that you would like to emulate? If you
have, chances are, you noticed this successful person was
POSSIBILITY CONSCIOUS. What I mean by that is they are the
type of person who sees all the possibilities of a
situation. And, if they truly are successful, it is the
Positive possibilities they most easily see!
On the other hand, talk to someone who has never been
successful in anything, and they tend to focus on all the
reasons why a certain course of action will fail. It's too
hard, or you don't have the time, or you're of the wrong
race, or you're too young etc. They can usually give you a
two hour lesson on why you just cannot do what it is you are
attempting.
In my business, I see more of the later type which I call
the FAILURE CONSCIOUS. I do my best to stay away from these
folks if I can help it. They will take up too much of your
time. They will be the first to complain about change, the
last to help out in a crunch, the first to want their pay,
and always, they will demand MORE ATTENTION!
I remember a few years back when my good friend Randy and I
were building a sales organization. Randy brought in one
young man who, from listening to him talk about himself,
seemed like he would out sell everybody. Turns out, he had a
few problems with the company. He didn't like this, he
complained about that. "Well if they don't change this they
will fall flat on their face" he declared! Needless to say,
Randy and I spent a lot of time trying to train this young
man. Randy felt, with just a little more help, the boy would
become a man, stand on his own two feet and really take off
with the business.
Randy then came to the conclusion that if we just gave a few
sales to him, he would really get excited when he started
getting checks. We even recruited a few sales people and
placed them under the boy. He must have received a few
hundred dollars from the sales we gave him. We were paid
twice each week, so he didn't even have to wait long to get
our gift commissions. Boy, now we are going to have
something!!! A few hundred dollars in his pocket, and he
hadn't yet done anything. We would have a warrior on our
hands!
About two days latter, I was talking to a mutual friend, who
told me the boy had spoken to her about the sales
opportunity. "He said that the company is no good and you
just can't make any money with it" she proclaimed. I told
her "You can make a lot of money if you want to work!". I
was earning $500 -$900 per week (a lot of money back then),
so the statement really made me furious. To make an even
longer story shorter, we didn't spend much more time with
the boy or anyone for that matter, unless they proved
themselves to be POSSIBILITY CONSCIOUS.
I was talking with a woman the other day who told me, "yeah,
but who would come up with that much for a home business?" I
told her that we have more business now than we can handle.
So someone must feel like it is not too much to invest in a
business. For most folks, a few hundred dollars invested in
a home business is chump change. If that is not true of the
people you have been talking to, then you need to talk to
some different people! I love home business. I have seen it
change people's lives. Not just financially, but in other
ways too! What other business can you get into for a few
hundred dollars and have the opportunity to make THOUSANDS
OF DOLLARS per WEEK? None! For the small guy, there are no
other opportunities like that!
Some people get stuck in the rut of a 9 to 5 job, making
$200 - $400 per week, and they begin to limit themselves
mentally. If they can not afford it, they think no one else
can either. Since they only make a couple hundred a week,
they don't believe you can make even one grande a week, let
alone THOUSANDS PER WEEK! They don't believe it. It can't be
true! They just cannot picture themselves making that kind
of money. If you fall into this category - GET OUT! Talk to
someone who has done it. Not to all those doubting Thomases
who have never done anything.
If you want to be successful in your marriage, don't go talk
to someone who has had 5 failed marriages! Talk to the
couple that have been married for 50 years. Ask what their
secret is. The world is full of folks who will tell you all
about why your marriage won't last, or why your business
will fail, or why the boss is a loser, or why groceries are
too high, or complain that they don't know how they will
ever pay their bills - on and on and on...
I was watching a news report one day on TV about the
economy. They were saying that jobs were down a little, but
the economy is way up and strong. New houses are being
built. And they can not figure out why! Let me tell you why.
It is because of us small business entrepreneurs. The same
ones they have been laughing at for years! We are quietly
building empires, and many of us from our homes. We don't
show up in the work statistics, cause we have created our
own jobs. We have even hired folks to work for us. Have you
joined winning home biz entrepreneurs yet? You can, if you
don't limit yourself mentally, or associate with ones who
do.
